The soundtrack to my life….(Personal Album Post #7)

on April 13, 2012

The love I have for Taylor Swift will never die. The love I have for music will never die either. Music makes me feel alive and gives me strength everyday. I don’t think I could ever give up music, especially Taylor Swift. Country music to me is more real than any other genre music. Country is about love, break-ups, and feeling alone. We’ve all experienced those emotions or will one day. From the day we’re born it’s installed in us that we’re going to find true love, have a big beautiful wedding and live “happily ever after.” I guess that can be true but even then there’s still an ending. Although it is a taboo subject, we are all guaranteed one thing in this life and that’s death. Listening to music makes me love being alive. It’s a great thing being human you know? We laugh, we cry, and we remember when we listen to that one song that touches your heart. Taylor Swift’s Speak Now album does that for me.

This album was the soundtrack to my life for a year and a half. Everything I needed to hear and know was in this album. Whether you’re the one breaking someones heart or the one with the broken heart Taylor Swift sings about it. I hope one day when I’m eighty years old that I’ll be listening to Taylor Swift riding in a red Chevy pick up truck with my husband. One of my favorite songs that Taylor Swift covered at one of her concerts was ”Cowboy Take Me Away” by the Dixie Chicks. It is my absolute favorite country song and it makes me want to stop what I’m doing and go for a walk in the middle of a field and enjoy life.

Taylor Swift is a big part of my life. I listen to her music whenever I can. Sometimes at work I’d be so bored that I’d write out her name in pretzel dough and take silly pictures of it and send it to my friends. When I’m working a Radio Disney event with my best friend Keri we dance and sing along to ”Sparks Fly” as if we were actually performing. Taylor Swift is more than an artist to me, she’s family. I’d give her a hug if I saw in her in the street. It would feel so normal to me, maybe not to her but you know what I mean.

Taylor Swift’s music reminds me of a beautiful spring day where children are laughing and people are happy. I wish happiness to everyone in the world and I know there’s someone out there for all of us. Maybe Amel isn’t the one for me. Maybe he’s just a lesson learned. I know that I deserve so much better and that I will find my Prince Charming one day. Taylor Swift will too. When we meet someone and we fall in love we don’t ever imagine that it’s going to end but it does. Thing to remember is if we’re all alone, than we’re all together in that too. Until then happy listening! I hope Taylor Swift holds a special place in your heart like she does in mine. Everybody needs a friend, sometimes a superstar can be that friend.

Album Rating: Always and Forever a 5! I love you Taylor Swift my BFF!

  1. My lovely Val!

EEEK I just want to tell you how much I love you and I’ve never even met you! You are just as shiny as that little sun at the bottom of your blog page.

Really, the way you speak so personally, I know that you give 110% of everything you have into everything you do, and it never makes me question your work ethic, which is AMAZING.

I totally understand about your feelings to country music. I was super huge into bluegrass and played mandolin for awhile, sometimes certain things never leave you.

You will grow so old and happy one day with someone so super great that can appreciate you, and you will have all the Chevy trucks in the world!

(I really hope you like Miranda Lambert, she is so great!)

Anyway, I know this is weird for me to comment on the last blog first, but it’s the last one I read, and I just had to say something. Your personality really seeps out through your blog, and you did such a great job!

I have no critiques for this, because I know that you will continue to absolutely slay the rest of your classwork for this class.

Best of luck for the rest of the semester, college career, and love life ;]

    ❤ ❤ ❤ Christin
